KITA Chairman Jin Sik Yoon and KyungYon Exhibition Corp. CEO Young Soo Kim contributed Badasarang Navy Scholarship Fund* to the Republic of Korea Navy on Wednesday, 5 November.
* Badasarang Navy Scholarship Fund was created to support the academic endeavours of children who are survived by Navy personnel either killed in action or killed on duty. The Fund is administered by Badasarang Navy Scholarship Foundation.
The ceremony was organised to express graditude to Navy personnel, who have contributed to the success of International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX), which is held every two years and co-hosted by KITA, the Republic of Korea Navy and KyungYon Exhibition Corp.
The ceremony was attended by Jin Sik Yoon, the Chairman of KITA, Dong Gil Gang, the Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea Navy, Young Soo Kim, the CEO of KyungYon Exhibition Corp. and other relevant officials. The total amount of contribution amounted to KRW 60m (approx. USD 41,300) of which KRW 50m (USD 34,500) will be dedicated to Badasarang Navy Scholarship Foundation and the remaining KRW 10m (approx. USD 6,900) will be offered to remaining family members of four Navy officers who were killed in a maritime patrol aircraft accident during MADEX 2025.
