On March 21, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA, Chairman Christopher KOO) held "Forum on Investment Environment and Opportunities in the UAE and Saudi Arabia” at the Trade Tower with the Korea-Arab Society (KAS), UAE Embassy in South Korea, Saudi Arabia Embassy in Korea and Korean Law Firm Hwawoo (also known as Yoon&Yang LLC).

The forum was attended by 250 officials and business leaders, including UAE Ambassador to Korea Abdulla Saif Ali Slayem AlNuaimi and Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Korea Sami M. Alsadhan. Experts in various fields delivered useful presentations on investment and business opportunities to promote economic cooperation between two countries.

As close partners of Korea, UAE has maintained a high ranking when it comes to Ease of Doing Business Index and Saudi Arabia has the world's largest oil reserves with a large local market driven by high purchasing power.

On March 20, Egyptian Ambassador to Korea Khaled Abdelrahman visited the KITA to discuss ways to further solidify economic ties and foster bilateral trade volume.

Egypt has a population of 100 million with just over 50 percent under the age of 30. The country boasts its abundant working-age population and beautiful scenery with natural resources.

In 2025, Korea and Egypt will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Before Korea-Egypt diplomatic anniversary, both countries will work closely to broaden their scope of cooperation and create more tangible results in the near future.

On March 23, KITA and Czech Embassy in Korea co-hosted the "Korea-Czech Business Forum" at the Le-Meridien Hotel in conjunction with the visit of Speaker of the Czech Parliament Adamova and business delegation.

Despite the pandemic situation, bilateral trade reached a record high of $4.18 billion last year. Given the fact that Korea is one of the Czech Republic's top four investment countries, Korean companies have recently expanded their local production and job creation with a focus on automobiles and tires. Based on the Czech Republic’s geographical advantage and cheap workforce, business leaders from both countries expect more active investment in manufacturing, ICT and other promising sectors.
