    KITA to Hold “Korea-ASEAN & India Business Week 2020”

     

    -  Forums on October 13th-14th will seek mutual prosperity of Korea and New Southern regions through promotional pavilion and video conferences  -

    -  Joseph Stiglitz, a professor at Columbia University and a recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, and Secretary-General of ASEAN will be keynote speakers  -

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-ju, President of the New Southern Policy Business Federation) announced that it will host “Korea-ASEAN & India Business Week 2020” in cooperation with Presidential Committee on New Southern Policy at COEX in Samseong-dong for two days from October 13th.

     

    The event will be held under the theme of 'Beyond Mutual Prosperity, Towards a Sustainable Future' and it is expected to be an opportunity to seek ways to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and a new leap forward through win-win cooperation between Korea and the New Southern countries.

     

    The 'Win-Win Business Forum' will be held as the opening event on the 13th and Joseph Stiglitz, a professor at Columbia University and a recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, will give a keynote speech on the subject of 'Post COVID-19, Asia's Role and Future'. Rachmat Kaimuddin, CEO of Bukalapak, an e-commerce company so-called Amazon of Indonesia and Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN will participate in the event via videoconference and discuss the business paradigm changes after the pandenomics and the vision of Korea-New Southern region cooperation. In the following panel discussion session, Korean moderators and panels will participate in real-time discussions on site and foreign panels will take part in via videoconference.

     

    During the event, 'ASEAN & India Big Buyer Online Conference' with 300 big buyers from New Southern region and 400 Korean companies will support Korean export companies' entry into the New Southern market, and 'ASEAN & India Pavilion' will display flagship  products of 11 New Southern countries and arrange consultations with Korean buyers.

     

    A variety of additional events such as ▲ASEAN & India Market Introduction Seminar, ▲Online Business Meetings for Certified Trading Company, Smart City and Startup, ▲ASEAN & India Human Resources Development Zone, and ▲ASEAN Culture Experience Zone will also take place.
