    KITA Cancels SPOEX”… But SPOEX Fall Will Take Place in August

    - The decision has been made in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection -


     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-ju) and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation have canceled the 2020 Seoul International Sports and Leisure Industry Show (SPOEX 2020), which was originally scheduled for four days from February 27th.

     

    SPOEX, the largest sports and leisure industry exhibition in Korea, has been held every February since 2001 by the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. However, the hosts have decided to cancel this years event due to the spread of novel coronavirus infection. Instead, the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation have decided to hold the 2020 Seoul International Sports & Leisure Industry Exhibition and Export Consultation (SPOEX Fall 2020)at COEX Hall D in Samseong-dong for two days from August 17th.

     

    SPOEX Fall is planning to invite famous Korean sporting goods manufacturers as well as overseas big buyers by arranging various programs including exhibitions, export consultations, overseas market expansion strategy seminar, and sports industry consultation, etc. In particular, the Korea International Trade Association is planning to take this event as an opportunity to actively introduce Korean companies sports services such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), screen sports, and franchises to the buyers from all over the world.  

     

    Kim Hyun-chul, head of the Global Marketing Group of the Korea International Trade Association, said, We are planning to expand our tailored online and offline marketing support projects with a view to minimizing the damages of small and medium-sized companies exports caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
