    KITA-Amazon Hosted ‘B2B Global Selling Conference’

     

    - KITA Introduced success stories of ‘K-ABC’ program, the overseas expansion support project in cooperation with Amazon -

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim Young-ju) and Amazon Korea co-hosted ‘KITA X Amazon Business Conference’ at COEX in Samseong-dong on September 30th.

     

    At the conference, CEO Lee Sung-han of Amazon Korea and a team dedicated to overseas sales participated and introduced the strategies for successful overseas expansion through the ‘Amazon Business’, business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce sales model.

     

    Mr. Lee said, “We are paying attention to Korea's original equipment manufacturers (OEM) that only manufacture the products suitable for B2B, including IT equipment, office supplies, tools, etc., without their own labels," adding They are highly reliable, have excellent quality control and have a high potential as they are willing to have their own brand.

      

    The Korea International Trade Association has announced plans to expand its K-ABC (KITA-Amazon Business Companion) program, a joint project with Amazon Korea. K-ABC is a program for export companies that closely consults the entire process from entering into Amazon to selling, operating, and settlement, and supports account operation costs and advertising expenses. The Korea International Trade Association plans to expand the K-ABC supports to 40 companies from 20 companies this year.

     

    Kim Seung-hwan, manager of J-Com Information and Communication, that is receiving K-ABC support, said in his presentation to share the success story, “Over the last four months, the order volume through Amazon has increased by 700 percent.He added, The professional advice from the Korea International Trade association and Amazon Korea on product listing based on data, shipping, advertising promotions and inventory management has been crucial to increasing the sales."

     

    Kim Hyun-chul, head of Global Marketing Group of the Korea International Trade Association, said, “Recently, global e-commerce companies are actively seeking 'Made in Korea', that have both price competitiveness and product reliability.” He also mentioned, We will prepare various support projects, such as the expansion of K-ABC program, to help Korean companies be widely recognized in the global market.

     

    Amazon Business is a B2B e-commerce business model which achieved 1 billion dollars of sales in one year since its first launch in the United States in 2015. The company has more than 1 million corporate buyers, including individual business owners, small and medium-sized companies and multinational corporations, as well as institutional buyers such as universities and hospitals.
