    KITA Held Welcome Banquet with President Andrej Kiska of Slovakia

     

    -     Emphasized economic cooperation upon 25-year anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties -

     

    The Korea International Trade Association (Chairman, Kim Young-joo) held a ‘Welcome Banquet with President Andrej Kiska of the Republic of Slovakia, Hosted by Korea’s Five Major Business Associations’ at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong on April 10.

     

    The President Andrej Kiska and 40 major figures of Slovakia who are visiting Korea, and some 60 Korean business figures, including Han Jin-hyun, vice chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Kim Joon-dong, vice chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce, Shin Young-sun, vice chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs and Ban Won-ik, vice chairman of the Association of High Potential Enterprises of Korea attended the event.

     

    Vice chairman Han Jin-hyun said in his welcoming speech, "Slovakia is rapidly developing its high-tech industries based on its know-how in manufacturing automobiles and electronics." He also mentioned, "We hope that Slovakia’s cooperation with Korean companies that are leading the 4th industrial revolution era based on their outstanding manufacturing capability and high level of ICT infrastructure will be expanded."

     

    President Andrej Kiska of the Republic of Slovakia stated "As this year marks the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Slovakia, we hope that the relationship between the two countries will be upgraded and cooperation in various fields, including science and technology, culture and human exchanges will be expanded as well as trade and investment."

     

    Slovakia serves as a European production base for global manufacturing companies based on its geographical advantage located in the center of Europe and its policy of attracting foreign capital. Some 90 Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics and Kia Motors, have production bases in Slovakia.
